Large-Scale Smart Metering Infrastructure Deployment
GMR Agra Smart Meters Limited is deploying 25.5 lakh smart meters in southern Uttar Pradesh under a contract awarded by Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (DVVNL). The large-scale project was established as a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle to replace 25.5 lakh conventional meters with smart meters across 24,584 sq km, in a geography that is 80% rural.
The project focuses on the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure to support the digital transformation of electricity distribution, including remote monitoring, consumption tracking, and improved billing systems.
