An Advanced Metering Infrastructure at Scale
GMR Kashi Smart Meters Limited operates as a Special Purpose Vehicle established to implement a large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) programme in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Operations commenced in January 2025 and involves deployment of 27.3 lakh smart meters across approximately 20,183 sq km under a contract awarded by Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PuVVNL). The AMI system enables remote monitoring, automated billing, interval-based consumption tracking, and integrated data management, supporting improved distribution efficiency and network visibility.
